Welcome to Drupal 11. First off, you should know that I've been out of the web development business, per se, since about 2009. Now it's more of a hobby, and it helps me keep up with emerging technology and informs my teaching. All the sites I maintain today are related to teaching, my other hobbies, or for friends & family. That said, I have been committed to Drupal for many years, and I certainly prefer it to the bloated and enigmatic beast that is Wordpress. But my two sites that depend on the framework could have probably been more easily migrated to a different framework altogether rather than stick with Drupal. Unfortunately, I don't care much for defeat, and once I get my teeth into a problem, I usually don't let go of it.
Drupal 7 stopped receiving security updates in early 2025, and I knew that this summer was the "make or break" for upgrading or abandoning the framework. I was "this close" to the latter path, but stuck with it and, well... here we are. Welcome to Drupal 11.
